When blood flow is not smooth due to blood clots, it can restore blood flow smoothly. Even if the stenosed blood vessels expand with a balloon or the blood clot is removed, it tends to narrow. This narrowing can be prevented by inserting a stent, which is a metal net supporting the vessel wall.

Then, surgeons insert a micro camera connected to the computer monitor and a surgical instrument attached to the arthroscope. This latest surgical method can treat immediately if a damaged area is identified while being observed on a monitor. It mainly treats degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, meniscus cartilage disc rupture, and is performed for cartilage transplantation. Additionally, it is possible to accurately diagnose diseases that cannot be identified by imaging such as CT or MRI. It also minimizes incisions, resulting in less pain and less visible wounds, and has the advantage of fast recovery due to the low possibility of complications.

It is called the meniscus cartilage disc due to its half-moon shape. Sutures or incisions are performed depending on the state of meniscus cartilage rupture. The surgical method is classified according to the distribution of blood vessels from the center of the joint to the periphery. Sutures are performed in the rupture site supplied with blood, while incisions are made in sites with little blood supply. In both operations, arthroscopy uses a special thread for suturing and closing the incision after confirming the range and shape of the meniscus cartilage.
