That mole might be skin cancer?
During seasons with high UV index, the risk of skin cancer increases.
Here’s how to self-check.
What is skin cancer?
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC)
The most common type of skin cancer, slow-growing, rarely metastasizes.
Appears as translucent, small nodules on the skin.
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)
Faster-growing, but highly curable if detected early.
Higher potential to metastasize to other areas.
Skin cancer self-assessment:
The A-B-C-D-E rule
Self-assessment
A (Asymmetry)
Uneven or asymmetric shape of the mole.
B (Border)
Irregular or blurred edges.
C (Color)
Uneven pigmentation;
changes in color in partial areas
to black-blue, white, or red.
D (Diameter)
Larger than 6 mm.
E (Evolution)
Any change in size, shape, or color;
or sudden enlargement.
