Founded in 1885, Seoul National University Hospital carries on the legacy of Jejungwon, Korea’s first modern hospital, meaning "Relief House." Jejungwon laid the groundwork for modern medicine in Korea. Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, SNUH’s first branch, opened in May 2003 as the world’s first fully digitalized hospital, achieving rapid growth through continuous innovation.

We have been at the forefront of advanced minimally invasive surgeries, including laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, microscopy, and robotic surgery. The hospital has set the standard for medical care both in Korea and globally, having performed the world's first successful laparoscopic surgery in the right posterior sector (RPS) in the liver, along with numerous groundbreaking procedures such as laparoscopic surgery for pancreatic tumors, endoscopy for esophageal cancer, and robotic surgery for aortic conditions. Our spirit of challenge, especially in demanding situations, turns every boundary into a new starting point, reshaping the future of medicine.

Surpassing geographical boundaries, we are marching forward to becoming a smart hospital and a global leader. We have set the standard for medical digital transformation with the world’s leading hospital information system, continuously integrating cutting-edge technologies to transcend national boundaries and establish ourselves as a global leader in smart hospital innovations.

We have implemented a patient-centered care model supported by a specialized integrated care system and advanced services, which features a multidisciplinary care system, specialized inpatient services, an e-ICU with real-time monitoring and collaboration.

With an interdisciplinary integrated medical care system, we provide the highest quality medical services. Twelve specialized centers collaborate to treat rare, severe, incurable, and complex diseases, setting the global standard for medical care.

We also lead public healthcare and contribute to the advancement of public health, fulfilling our mission as a national central hospital and public medical institution. Our goal is to redefine the future of medicine while continuing to provide world-class treatment and research, ensuring that people around the world can enjoy healthy and fulfilling lives.

We extend our core value of social contribution beyond Korea to make a global impact. In addition to our efforts in Korea, we focus on Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, as well as conflict-affected regions such as Uzbekistan, Cambodia, and Iraq, where we work to educate local medical personnel and promote healthcare.

Through international cooperation in healthcare, we have set our standards as the benchmark for global excellence. Building on smart healthcare systems exported worldwide, we have developed a global online education platform that promotes clinical exchanges, educational training, and research collaboration with countries in the Middle East, Russia, and Latin America.
