Leading medical treatments that are deemed to represent the Korea's medical treatments, have been selected in each specialty area for introduction to foreign patients. A total of 36 medical treatments have been recommended and selected by the Selection Committee consisted of 14 professional societies such as the Korean Association of Internal Medicine. The selection criteria were excellence in treatment, economic efficiency, internal diagnosis & treatment infrastructure, international differentiation, possibility of attracting foreign patients, etc.

These medical treatments have been named "Smart Care 36 2010," which consists of 30 treatments in medicine, 3 in dentistry, and 3 in traditional medicine.
